CODEC Consortium Ankara Meeting

Within the scope of the Erasmus+ Exchange Program Distance Education Consortium Mobility (Project No. 2023-1-TR01-KA131-HED-000136980), coordinated by Trabzon University and with our University, Atatürk University, Dokuz Eylül University, and Karadeniz Technical University as consortium partners, an evaluation meeting for the consortium process was held between July 10–13, 2025, hosted by our Center.

Following the meeting, a certificate ceremony was held with the participation of the Vice Rectors of our University, Prof. Dr. Hasan TEZER and Prof. Dr. Serhat KARYEYEN; Trabzon University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan KARAL; our University Rector’s Advisors Prof. Dr. Selami CANDAN and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer AYAZ, Head of the IT Department; Director of Trabzon University Distance Education Application and Research Center Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Kürşat ERÜMİT; Assistant Director Dr. Alper ŞİMŞEK; Lecturer Dr. Ayşe Banu PAK; Assistant Coordinator of Trabzon University International Relations Office Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gürhan BEBEK; Atatürk University Faculty of Open and Distance Education Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Engin KURŞUN and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serkan YILDIRIM; Director of Dokuz Eylül University Distance Education Application and Research Center Prof. Dr. Bahar BARAN; Lecturers Deniz ERASLAN and Şirin Nur YACI; Director of Karadeniz Technical University Distance Education Application and Research Center Assoc. As part of the program, a meaningful visit was made to Anıtkabir with the project team, where the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was commemorated with respect and gratitude. In addition, during the technical visit to Gazi Technopark, participants were given comprehensive information by General Manager Ms. Elif Başak TEKSİN and Deputy General Manager Mr. Furkan ÖZCAN about the structure of the technopark, support mechanisms, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem. Various technology companies operating within Gazi Technopark were also visited to learn about their R&D activities and digital solutions.

The project team also visited our University’s Distance Education Application and Research Center, where our Center Director, Prof. Dr. Mutlu Tahsin ÜSTÜNDAĞ, provided information on our projects carried out in web3 and metaverse environments, content developed in our studio, the certification training processes, and other distance education activities. In addition, the team visited the Gazi University Information Technology Department, where they toured the data center and received detailed information about the university’s digital transformation projects.

On the final day of the program, a cultural trip was organized to Beypazarı, one of Ankara’s districts rich in cultural and historical heritage. There, participants had an unforgettable experience exploring traditional handicrafts, local architecture, and regional delicacies.
